Brief Introduction of CLA Courses

CLA is trying best to provide the most practical Chinese language courses for students. The teaching books adopted by CLA now are mainly these three types:A.Students¡¯ Optional Books B.CLA Appointed Books C.CLA Specially-Compiled Books.

  Students¡¯ Optional Books

Students can select books to their interest. But whichever books students select, CLA teachers will all make efforts to make the student master it as soon as possible.

  CLA Appointed Books

The professional Chinese books compiled by Chinese prestigious universities such as Peking University, Fudan University, etc. The books are divided into three stages: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced.

  CLA Specially-Compiled Books

This set of books is specially compiled by the experienced teachers of CLA. They can be best described as Brief and Practical. It has three different stages: Pronunciation, Expression Skills and Practical Dialogues. Through the systematic study of CLA Specially-Compiled Books, students without any basic knowledge of Chinese can achieve a level that means they can live in China without big language barriers. Aimed at the need of students, CLA tries to arm the students with the most practical Chinese language skills. After the study of Pronunciation, students may accurately use Chinese Pin Yin. They will be able to use Pin Yin to chat with friends through Internet and also send cellphone short messages in Pin Yin effortlessly. When the students finish Expression Skills, they will have a comparatively clear idea of Chinese sentence patterns and express various meanings by the words and patterns they have acquired. For example:
A:You ren qiao meng,qu ba men da kai.
B:Hao de.
CLA students are able to say:¡°A rang B qu ba meng da kai,yin wei you ren qiao meng.¡±
As we know, language is ever changing so words and patterns used in the books are somewhat different from the ones in daily life. In Practical Dialogues, we try to tell the students the most-used sentenced in daily life. For example:
When you take a taxi in China, the driver will ask:¡°Nin shang nar?¡±rather than :¡°Qing wen,nin yao qu na li?¡±
Another example,when making phone calls,we use:¡°Nin na wei?¡±instead of:¡°Ni jiao shen me ming zi?¡±
All in all, CLA hopes that through the studies in CLA, you can better enjoy your life in China.
